Ryohin Keikaku, the company behind the MUJI brand, has expanded its overseas business in recent years, unifying its previously unified file exchange system with its international bases into HULFT and strengthening its global file sharing infrastructure. Established in 1989, Ryohin Keikaku acquired the rights to the MUJI brand from Seiyu, which debuted in 1980 with 40 items as Seiyu's private brand.
