Colt was founded by the US Fidelity Group as a telecommunications/IT provider focused on the Japanese market. Combining its own fiber optic network and large-scale data centers, Colt provides economical, highly reliable and secure network services and IT management solutions to corporate customers. The company built a portal system for salespeople using DataSpider, linking information from in-house developed systems and other sources to display it all on a single screen, with a CRM system built using Siebel at its core. By further enhancing the convenience of the robust Siebel package, they created a system that helps strengthen sales capabilities.
A feature of DataSpider is that you don't need to write scripts. You can build a connected system just by selecting and placing the displayed icons. I enjoyed the excitement of drawing a blueprint on a blank tool palette while thinking about how to connect things efficiently, and the fun of creating something.
